Hyundai Motor Group has launched the Hyundai CoE Mobility Innovation Ideathon and Research Synergy Forum, bringing students, professors and researchers from its seven-university Hyundai Centre of Excellence (Hyundai CoE) network into a broader innovation programme.

The Ideathon, running from September to early December 2026, focuses on “Enhanced In-Vehicle Experience”, with challenges spanning India-smart interaction, AI-powered and digital experiences, next-generation interfaces and smart value innovation.

The seven participating institutions are IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, VNIT Nagpur and Tezpur University. Seven finalist teams will compete in the final round on 16 December, with approximately ₹10 lakh in prize money planned across the finalists.

Alongside the student programme, the Research Synergy Forum will connect faculty members with Hyundai researchers on batteries, electrification and future mobility technologies, while exploring potential collaboration with Hyundai’s R&D divisions.

Why It Matters:

The initiative extends Hyundai CoE beyond individual research projects into talent discovery, idea generation and research networking, creating a broader channel between Indian academia and automotive innovation.
