Norbert Kiss had already secured his record-extending eighth Goodyear FIA European Truck Racing Championship title at Le Mans before arriving at Jarama. He added another race victory at the Spanish finale, taking his 2026 tally to 20 outright wins.
John Newell then sealed the Chrome championship with one race remaining at Jarama, putting the title beyond defending champion Mark Taylor’s reach.
The finale also completed a remarkable first season for the Goodyear Wingfoot Award in ETRC. Lukas Hahn became its only two-time 2026 recipient after winning the fan-voted award at Jarama, following his earlier success at Most. His father, Jochen Hahn, was also among the season’s Wingfoot winners at the Nürburgring.
Why It Matters:
The Jarama finale brought together three dimensions of modern truck racing — championship dominance, category competition and growing fan engagement — giving the 2026 ETRC season a fitting conclusion.
