Unveiled at IAA Transportation 2026, the MAN TGS 60.540 8x4 BB extends the manufacturer’s mining range beyond its existing 50-tonne model. Approved for application-specific gross weights of up to 60 tonnes, it is designed for heavy-duty operations where payload capacity and vehicle availability directly affect productivity.
Powered by a 12.4-litre MAN D2676 Euro 6e engine producing 540 hp and 2,650 Nm of torque, the truck features a reinforced chassis, two 10-tonne front axles and heavy-duty rear suspension. Its lightweight configuration places it in the 40-tonne payload class.
MAN is initially targeting Chile and Morocco with a Euro 6 left-hand-drive version. Variants meeting Euro 2 to Euro 5 emissions standards are planned for Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, extending the truck’s reach into markets with different operating requirements.
The package goes beyond the vehicle itself. On-site training, mobile workshops, container-based service facilities and a two-year warranty on MAN genuine parts are intended to support mining operations that run around the clock.
Why It Matters
In mining, greater payload capacity creates value only when trucks remain productive. MAN’s approach combines heavier-duty equipment with service support designed to reduce the operational consequences of downtime.
