The International Road Transport Union (IRU) is bringing a broad operational agenda to FENATRAN 2026, using Latin America’s major road freight and logistics exhibition to address the industry’s most pressing challenges.
Taking place at São Paulo Expo from 9–13 November, the event will see IRU engage with manufacturers, transport operators, policymakers and industry associations on cleaner freight, international transit, road safety and workforce development.
On 10 November, IRU will present its Green Compact at the Sustainable Transport Forum, joining industry leaders from Scania, Prometeon and Randoncorp to discuss technologies and business models supporting heavy-duty transport decarbonisation. The programme will also examine the E-Dutra initiative, which aims to establish a low-emission freight corridor between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
The following day, IRU will join Brazil’s Ministry of Transport and NTC&Logística for a seminar addressing cargo theft, Brazil’s implementation of the international TIR transit system and the shortage of professional drivers.
IRU will also present its work on women’s participation in road transport at the Women’s Forum in Transport and Logistics on 12 November.
Why It Matters:
FENATRAN places Brazil’s freight priorities within a wider international debate. Connecting decarbonisation with trade facilitation, cargo security and driver development reflects the need for solutions that improve the efficiency and resilience of road transport—not emissions performance alone.
