Scania Introduces New Fuel-Efficient Powertrain Line
Scania's latest powertrain updates target lower fuel consumption and extended service intervals for long-haul operators.
Scania has launched an updated powertrain line focused on fuel efficiency and total cost of ownership for European long-haul fleets. The new engines feature refined combustion control, improved aftertreatment management, and software updates that optimise performance across varied load conditions.
Fleet trials reported fuel savings of up to 4% on motorway routes compared with previous-generation configurations. Service intervals for key drivetrain components have also been extended where operating conditions allow.
Scania dealers are rolling out retrofit guidance and calibration support for operators upgrading mixed-age fleets. The manufacturer expects the powertrain line to become standard on new truck orders from Q3 2026.
